Impact & Accountability
Measuring what matters, sharing our progress transparently
Our Goal
To transform single-mother households in Genda Village into resilient, self-sustaining units, where children gain education, life skills, and leadership capacity, and mothers secure stable household incomes that break the cycle of poverty for good.
Our Commitment to Families
Through our holistic five-pillar approach, we are committed to achieving meaningful, measurable outcomes for every family we serve in Genda Village.
Education for Every Child: Nearly all children in our program will remain enrolled in school. We target a retention rate that ensures every child completes their education without being forced to drop out due to financial barriers. We work closely with schools and families to remove obstacles and create an environment where learning can flourish.
Academic Excellence: Children will show significant improvement in their academic performance through our tutoring programs, homework support, and holiday learning camps that reinforce classroom learning. Our approach combines remedial education with enrichment activities that make learning engaging and relevant to their daily lives.
Better Health Outcomes: Families will experience a major reduction in preventable illness as we provide health education, regular screenings, and links to local health services for ongoing care. We train mothers in nutrition, hygiene, and basic first aid, empowering them to become the first line of defense for their children's health.
Economic Stability: The majority of households will achieve stable, reliable income through diversified farming, small livestock projects, and participation in village savings groups. We help families identify market opportunities, develop business skills, and build financial resilience that lasts beyond our direct involvement.
Leadership & Confidence: Every child in our program will emerge equipped with confidence and leadership skills through resilience circles, mentorship, and creative expression activities that build self-worth and agency. We believe that breaking the cycle of poverty requires not just material resources but also the inner strength to envision and pursue a different future.
Monitoring & Accountability Framework
How we track progress and ensure results
Household Stability
We regularly assess improvements in hygiene practices, nutrition diversity, daily routines, and overall safety of the home environment.
Child Development
We track school attendance rates, homework completion, and the acquisition of practical life skills through regular check-ins with teachers and families.
Health & Wellbeing
We monitor child growth metrics, participation in preventive care, and mental health through observation and supportive conversations.
Economic Progress
We track household income growth, savings accumulation, and the success of small enterprises through quarterly family reviews.
Program Reflection
We conduct quarterly staff reviews and maintain real-time dashboards to ensure our interventions are delivering results for every family.
Building for Sustainability
Creating lasting systems that reduce dependency on external aid
Diversified Income Streams
We help each household develop multiple sources of income using improved agricultural techniques, small livestock rearing, and local enterprise opportunities.
Youth Innovation Funds
Older children participate in youth innovation and enterprise funds, learning entrepreneurship skills and building financial literacy from an early age.
Community Social Enterprises
We support the development of locally-owned social enterprises that generate income to partially sustain program operations while creating jobs in the community.
Our long-term vision is to generate a significant portion of our operational costs internally by Year Five — steadily reducing reliance on external aid while building community ownership and self-sufficiency.
